Australian batting star Steve Smith has created history in franchise cricket by becoming the only player in T20 cricket history to score centuries in all three major leagues: the BBL, IPL, and PSL.
The milestone came during PSL 2026 Match 33 at the National Stadium Karachi on April 22, where Smith played a brilliant knock for Multan Sultans against Hyderabad Kingsmen. He scored 106 runs off just 50 balls, reaching his century in only 47 deliveries. His innings included 12 boundaries and 6 sixes, showing his class and experience once again.
However, cricket can be unpredictable. Even though Smith played a top-quality innings, Multan Sultans could not defend the total. Hyderabad Kingsmen chased down the target of 214 runs in 19.3 overs, with Usman Khan also scoring a century, making it a memorable high-scoring match.
What makes Steve Smith’s achievement even more special is his record across different leagues over the years. He first reached a T20 century in the IPL in 2016, playing for Rising Pune Supergiants against Gujarat Lions. After that, he added another century in the BBL for Sydney Sixers in BBL12 against Adelaide Strikers. With his PSL hundred in 2026, he has now completed a rare and unmatched treble in franchise cricket.
This means Steve Smith stands alone in T20 history as the only batter to score centuries in BBL, IPL, and PSL, a record that highlights his consistency and ability to perform in different conditions and leagues around the world.
It is one of those achievements that fans will remember for a long time, especially in modern T20 cricket where scoring a century is already a big challenge.
