A Pakistani citizen arriving from the United Arab Emirates was stopped at a Pakistani airport after authorities recovered 2 kilograms of sheesha flavours from his luggage. The item is not allowed to be imported into the country under existing regulations.
According to officials, the passenger was undergoing routine baggage checking when the material was detected. He was informed that the sheesha flavours fall under restricted or banned items, after which the goods were taken into custody by the authorities.
Sources said the passenger reacted strongly during the process and appeared agitated. A video of the incident also circulated online, which was recorded by the passenger himself. In the footage, officials can be seen continuing their procedure and handling the situation as per standard practice.
Authorities noted that the quantity recovered could be used in a large number of smoking sessions, raising concerns linked to regulatory compliance and public health.
Pakistan Customs stated that it continues to enforce import laws at all entry points and advised passengers to check regulations before travelling to avoid any inconvenience.
