The federal government has announced a new plan to make electric bikes (e-bikes) more affordable for government employees by offering them on easy installment payments. The decision is part of Pakistan’s wider effort to promote electric vehicles and reduce fuel dependency.
According to official information, the scheme will mainly benefit government employees up to BPS-16. Under this plan, eligible staff will be able to purchase e-bikes without paying the full amount at once. Instead, they will pay in monthly installments, making it easier for lower and middle-income employees to manage transport expenses.
Officials say the main idea behind this initiative is to provide relief to employees who are struggling with rising fuel prices and daily commuting costs. At the same time, the government also wants to encourage the use of environment-friendly transport, which can help reduce pollution in major cities like Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.
