A deeply disturbing incident has been reported from Shadan Jatoi village in the Bakrani area of Larkana, Sindh, where a mother and her young daughter were killed in a violent attack that has left the local community in shock and fear.
The victims have been identified as 45-year-old Shahida Jatoi, widow of Dilshad Jatoi, and her 18-year-old daughter, Naghma Jatoi. According to initial reports, the incident has left the entire area in shock due to its extreme brutality and disturbing details.
While the case was initially reported as a “Karo-Kari” or so-called honour killing, further investigation suggests the real reason may be a marriage-related dispute. Reports indicate that a faction within the Jatoi clan had allegedly proposed Naghma’s marriage to a man working in Saudi Arabia. The family’s refusal of this proposal is believed to have triggered the deadly attack.
Armed individuals allegedly stormed the house, executed the two women, and in a shocking act of violence, their bodies were also desecrated. The attackers then set the house on fire before fleeing the scene.
The brutality of the incident has raised serious questions and widespread anger in the area. Locals describe the situation as terrifying, saying such violence has created fear among residents, especially women in the village.
The Sindh Human Rights Commission has taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from local authorities. The commission has strongly condemned the killings and called it a grave violation of human rights.
Meanwhile, the suspects are still at large. Police investigations are ongoing, but no arrests have been confirmed so far.
The incident has sparked protests and outrage across parts of Sindh, with activists demanding immediate arrests and justice for the victims. Many are also urging authorities to take stronger steps against forced marriage pressure and targeted violence against women.
