When your exams are over and the paper checking is done, you may show in-and-out emotions in rising hopes and expectations as well as in falling head and attitude. In the case of a situation where you are in the best position to point out the mistakes in your allotted marks, you can consult the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), which offers a rechecking facility.
Anyway, it has to be made known what the real meaning of rechecking is and how the process goes.
What is rechecking?
The first and foremost thing is to understand the real meaning of the FBISE rechecking, which is not synonymous with re-evaluation of your exam paper. The board points out that rechecking involves the correction of arithmetic errors and the validation of all the parts of your answer script that were completed.
For instance, the process will involve:
•Examining any mistakes in the grand total on the front page of your answer book.
•Summing up the marks for each part of the question accurately.
•Validating marks carried forward from the text page to the title page.
•Being assured that no part of the answer was left unmarked.
•Checking whether the total marks on your answer book are the same as those on your mark sheet.
To sum up, it is a detailed examination to identify any factual errors made by the clerical staff in the tallying, not a re-grading of your answers.
How to Apply for Rechecking
There are no complications in the procedure of applying for re-checking conducted by the FBISE. The candidates are provided with the online and postal variants, which are as follows:

What is the Fee and When Is the Deadline?
For a candidate in Pakistan, the rechecking fee is Rs. 1500 per subject. On the other hand, the rechecking fee for candidates from other countries is US$35 per subject (exclusive of bank charges). As far as the deadlines are concerned, applications are generally acceptable if they are complete and submitted within 20 days of the announcement of the result. Applications that are either incomplete or exceed the deadline will not be entertained, and the fees paid are non-refundable.
Track Your Application and Check the Rechecking Results
Following the submission of your application, it becomes possible to monitor the status of it online via the FBISE website. Upon the finalization of the rechecking process, FBISE will let you know through an electronic mode (for online submissions) and later on send a formal letter to your address. If there is any change in your marks, a revised mark sheet will be provided to you.
Recall that although rechecking is indeed a possible choice to verify that the outcomes presented are correct, it is also necessary to be aware of its drawbacks.
